Things We Can Do On Our Honeymoon
A lot of thought and planning are put into the wedding itself, but the honeymoon can need almost as much. Depending on the amount of time the bride and groom have for their honeymoon, it can range from a weekend to a week or more. If both or one of you are employed there may only be time for a weekend now and maybe a week for your first anniversary. If it is only a weekend you will not want to go far so that you have as much time to spend together as possible. A good idea for a short honeymoon is finding a bed and breakfast for the weekend or if it is possible and the weather permits, a cottage or hotel near the beach for a bit of romance such as a moonlight stroll on the sand.
A bed and breakfast is a good choice whether you have a weekend or longer. There are bed and breakfast castles in several states that are furnished with period pieces and your stay there can certainly make you feel like royalty. Some even have themes such as one in Minnesota that has murder mystery dinners and dinner cruises on a local lake. If you are on a budget there are several American Historic Inns’ B&Bs that have a special buy one night get the second free. These are located all over the United States and are among some of the most friendly and welcoming places to stay.
A cruise is among one of the most romantic honeymoon choices. However should this be your choice remember that hurricane season starts on June 1st and goes thru November 30th and even though you may get cheaper rates it is a time to be very alert to the weather. That doesn’t mean you can’t go and enjoy, it just pays to be aware. In answer to this possibility a lot of the resort areas are opting for hurricane guarantees so if all or part of your trip is affected you don’t completely lose out.
If you and your spouse are the outdoor type a honeymoon in the mountains or a state park that rents cabins can be quite romantic. The state parks are an easy one because every state has them. Many of them actually have honeymoon cabins that have hot tubs. There is one state park in Arkansas where you can go to hunt for diamonds and keep any that you find.
Of course, if money is no object and you have plenty of time there are trips to Paris or Greece or Switzerland. All of these and more are honeymoon destinations for those who are not on a budget. No matter where you go or how long you are gone the end result is the same. This is the time to begin your lives together as husband and wife.
